Thank you for your interest in volunteering with our Gulf Coast Affiliates and Rebuild1000. With your help we can continue to work towards our goal of rebuilding 1000 homes!
Rebuidling Together Calcasieu was established in 1992 by a loyal group of volunteers. After the devastation following Hurricane Rita in 2005, the organization expanded its operations in order to meet the increased needs within the community. The surrounding area suffered extensive wind and flood damage due to Rita, and many residents did not have their power restored for almost a month following the storm. Homeowners continue to rebuild, and Rebuilding Together Calcasieu works to rehab homes on a year round basis.
National Work Weeks occur in the cities of Sulphur, Westlake, Lake Charles, Moss Bluff, or Iowa in Southwest Louisiana. The Calcasieu area offers beautiful natural habitats- fresh water marshes, rivers, lakefronts, and beaches. Additionally, there are a variety of dining, shopping, and entertainment options available including the Charpentier Historical District, the Port of Lake Charles, Millenium and Adventures Cove Park, and the L'Auberge du lac Casino.
